2026 Canine water seminar

Oxford EMS, in partnership with the Beacon Falls Police Department, is hosting a comprehensive Water Search & Recovery K9 Seminar featuring hands-on training and IPWDA certification and recertification testing.
Participants will work through progressive water-based HRD scenarios, deployment tactics, safety operations, and shoreline/boat search techniques.
This seminar is designed for working K9 teams seeking both advanced training opportunities and the ability to complete IPWDA testing in a supportive, professional environment.

When:   May 15th - May 17th, 2026
Where: Oxford, CT / Beacon Falls, CT
Cost: $350 per handler. 1st canine included
$100 for 2nd canine. Maximum of 2 canines per handler.

Certification testing may be offered to International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA) members. IPWDA membership is NOT required to participate in the seminar.

Lodging: Hotels in Shelton, CT are recommended. Everything you may need is on Bridgeport
Ave and it is easy on and off the highway to Oxford/Beacon Falls.
